I know it has been a while since I have put up a new post, but these next few songs i have are great. They are not mash-ups or crazy remixes however they happen to be made by some of my good friends. Props to Doug, Sam and Tim for their work on these next few songs. All three of these guys are great family friends and when they are not yachting or drinking Natty they enjoy making silk for our earlobes. Please download the songs and share them with all of your friends because i promise they will stir some interest. The songs were produced in the basement of a Cape Cod summer house and were a staple for the summer of 09′.

COUNTRY TIME 09′

So with the Kenny Chesney concert comming up in Boston I figured it would be a good time to mix up the tunes a little bit. Kenny has graced Foxboro, MA with his presence for the past 5 years in a row and has played each year in front of a sold out crowd. Hitting a small rut in the remix world I decided to throw in some of my personal favorite summer country songs. They are all upbeat and fast paced which is good because there is only so much slow twang country one can take. Seth knows what i’m talking about. All the songs following are great for a top down drive or a saturday afternoon booze cruise with the friends. With only 20 days until I am back to school in NC i figured some southern songs were a must. All of these songs are legit and the southern girls love them so listen to them.

Summer Nights – Rascal Flatts – one of my favorite if not my favorite country song. Very upbeat and a killer party song. Bump it loud in the car, or on the boat and the mood rises. A solid summer country party song. (9.5/10)

Shes Country – Jason Aldean – starts off slow for the first 20 seconds and then a rush of violin, guitar, and banjo kick in. Once again a very upbeat song and one that many of the northern guys can appreciate going to school with the “country girls”. Wait for the guitar at 2:19, overall I’ll give it a (8.5/10)

Barefoot and Crazy – Jack Ingram – another jacked up country tune. Right from the get go you know its never gonna die out. The guitar keeps up the beat along with a set of hard drums. Another classy booze cruise tune. (9/10)

Hell Yeah – Montgomery Gentry – one of the more relaxing songs on this particular post. Good vocals and a great song to chill to. Starts slow and builds up. Make sure to wait for a decent solo at 3:00 as well. (6.5/10)

Bonfire – Craig Morgan – a perfect description of a summer beach party, in hick slang of course. Definitely and upper song and great to party to. A fun song for the beach or to blast in the car. Enjoy (8/10)

Sideways – Dierks Bentley – very upbeat song right from the start. Strong guitar riffs and a sweet banjo throughout. Great song to build up a boring night with some buds. A definite party song. (7/10)

LOVELY DAY FOR A TUNE

After nearly 6 days in Ireland the realization came to me that I haven’t posted anything new for almost two weeks. Sorry to all. With some time spent in search of new rips I have come across a few very good ones. Although the genres are no comparison to the Pub scene with bagpipes, guitars, and flutes, these songs do a good job of impressing. With nearly a week spent driving on the wrong side of the road, listening to ugly Irish girls’ accents, and drinking nothing but Guinness it is great to be back. Please enjoy the next few songs which I have spent hours listening to on numerous plane rides and car rides.

Two Weeks of Hip Hop – Dead Prez vs. Grizzly Bear (8.5/10) – all in all a great song. The piano in the background mixed with the crafty lyrics allow for a unique sound to shine through. A really well done mix with great meshing and cohesive beats.

Everything In Its Right Place (Gigamesh Remix) – Discotech vs. Radiohead (9/10) – One of my favorite chill electronic songs of the past year. The sort of music that is perfect to blast on a car ride at night. The bass beat is so simple and so smooth it is bound to show you a good time.

Beat Beaty Bye Bye (Radio Vampiro Mix) – Ratatat vs. Cypress Hill (7.5/10) – Ratatat has long been one of my personal favorites and with Cypress Hill’s odd style over a catchy beat it allows for an interesting take. Enjoy

Revolver – Madonna ft. Lil’ Wayne (6/10) – Happened to come across this a few weeks ago. Definitely more mainstream than most stuff I post, however its got a catchy beat. Madonna is old but shows no sign of slowing up and Lil’ Wayne drops a unique verse at 1:17. Its less of a rap and more of him singing which is funny and entertaining. Definitely a song that girls would like in general and guys would like simply for the Weezy verse.

Endless Finals

Sorry to everyone who has been requesting new jams. As you all know finals week has just passed and I am finally home for the summer. After sitting down tonight I came across some crazy mixes. Summer is now among most of us and its time to have some great beach tunes or party songs. Here are a few I recently found so Enjoy. Alongside each song I will provide a personal rating and a short description. Let the beat build in Summer 09′

Hello Brooklyn – Jay-Z ft. Marvin Gaye (8.5/10) – Overall this is a very solid song. Great background of “Sexual Healing” with a few solid Wayne verses. Jay-Z completes the song and the few rap verses give a famous sexual song a more edgy feel.

Comfortable Up Here – Lil’ Wayne ft. Royksopp (9/10) – One of my favorite Wayne remixes that i have stumbled across. With a perfectly compatible Royksopp background, Weezy has the opportunity to capitalize throughout the entire song. This is one of those songs you want to listen to with your car windows down and volume cranked.

Turn My Swag On – Telephoned ft. Telli Federline (8/10) – A very interesting take to the original by Soulja Boy. It starts off fairly slow so be sure to hear it all the way through. The background trumpets and shadowing really give the song an electric feel…no pun intended.

Juicy (Brooklyn Go Hard Remix) – DJ Digital Dave ft. Notorious BIG (8.5) – How can you honestly give Biggy lower than an 8.5? Biggy’s verse really meshes with the voice of Santigold and the solid drum beats in the background. An amazing song from back in the day that is paired with modern jams to provide some contrast.

Overnight Celebrity (Dave Wrangler Remix) – Kanye West ft. Twista (7.5/10) – Not one of my best finds, however the background throughout the song makes it impressive. Kanye spits a few verses and with Twista meshed in as well this song would be good for a beach day or a night out

BLOODY MARY?

After a friday night full of bass thumping beats and synths from Girl Talk I decided it would be best to throw up some great new electronic/dance jams. The Bloody Beetroots are an Italian duo that seem to be on their way quickly to the top. After listening to a few of their songs I came to realize that their style can be compared to a mix of Daft Punk, Justice, and even some Ratatat. The harsh synths are a strong technique in many of their songs and I can only imagine how many recent leaks will soon be remixed by the Italian masterminds. With a current remix of Timbalands Miscommunication, the duo truly sets the stage for an uptempo and heart pulsing set of beats. It is impossible to sit still throughout any of their songs and with a punk/electronic style the Bloody Beetroots are sure to sweep the stage. After sorting through some of my favorites here are a few that will instantly blow your mind…Enjoy

Bounce (The Bloody Beetroots Remix) – MSTRKRFT

Warp 7.7 – The Bloody Beetroots

Warp 1.9 – The Bloody Beetroots

Dimmakmunnication (Timbaland Remix) – The Bloody Beetroots

Butter – The Bloody Beetroots

2009grammyremix

Sometimes some slow mixes are necessary in life. After sorting through numerous mix-tapes the other day I stumbled across one titled “2009: The Grammy Remix Album”. After listening to many of the songs I realized the mixes were all slow and almost suitable for a nap. After having posted multiple times with reggaeton, hip-hop and dance mixes I figured some slow jams were necessary. The mixture of Coldplay’s piano with Jay-Z’s lyrics or even Lupe’s rhymes on top of Sarah Bareilles provide with some relaxing tunes. Maybe even some homework music??? Well whether it is a night spent studying in the library or a lazy Sunday afternoon outside these beats will be sure to bring you relaxation. Enjoy

Reckon A Superstar (Remotmick Boogie Remix) – Radiohead ft. Lupe Fiasco

Say (Terry Urbanjudah Remix) – John Mayer ft. Jay-Z

I Got A Love Song (Remot Remix) – Lupe Fiasco ft. Sarah Bareilles

Lost Part 2 (Mick Boogie Remix) – Coldplay ft. jay-Z

Take The Hill (Terry Urbannvme Remix) – Coldplay ft. Jay-Z

I Can’t Tell You Why Ms. Officer – Lil’ Wayne ft. The Eagles

this song is the song in the trailer…We Are Rockstars – Does It Offend You, Yeah?

After an eventful past Thursday-Saturday some buddies and I decided to go see Fast and the Furious 4. After watching the past few prequels I wasn’t expecting anything more than foreign women in skimpy outfits and some great whips. After the movie ended I was shocked as the plot, setting, and special effects had stepped up this Fast and the Furious to a whole new level. With Vin Diesels “stoic” acting and an ending that will leave you at as big of a cliffhanger as the hit series “LOST”, there is sure to be yet another sequel. After a recent pre-game in the L-Box, the song “Krazy” by Pitbull & Lil’ Jon was a hit and it showed up in the movie as well. Here are a few hip-hop and reggaeton songs that are from the Fast and the Furious 4 soundtrack and my personal collection…enjoy

Krazy Pjanoo (Remix) – Eric Prydz vs. Pitbull ft. Lil Jon

Pick It Up And Drop It – Sean Paul

Blanco – Pitbull ft. Pharrell

Poker Face – Three 6 Mafia and Pitbull

Culo (Megamix) – Lil Jon, Pitbull, Elephant Man, Sean Paul…etc
